Jim Gillette (James T. Gillette, Jr.) was born on December 19, 1917 in Courtland, Virginia. After going to high school at Courtland (VA), Gillette attended the University of Virginia. Gillette made his professional debut in the NFL in 1940 with the Cleveland Rams. He played for the Cleveland Rams, Detroit Lions, Boston Yanks and Green Bay Packers over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that 1945 was Jim Gillette's best year, as he picked off 4 passes.
