Jim Gentile

Jim Gentile (James Edward Gentile) was born on June 3, 1934 in San Francisco, California. He made his Major League debut on September 10, 1957 for the Brooklyn Dodgers. In 1960, his rookie year, he hit .292 with 21 home runs and 98 RBI. Gentile played for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Baltimore Orioles, Kansas City Athletics, Houston Astros and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 9 year career.
Most people believe that Jim Gentile's best season was 1961, when he slugged 46 home runs, hit for a .302 average and knocked in 141 runs.
