Jim Field (James C. Field) was born on April 24, 1863 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on June 2, 1883 for the Columbus Colts. In 1883, his rookie year, he hit .258 with 1 home run and 0 RBI. Field played for the Columbus Colts, Pittsburgh Pirates, Baltimore Orioles, Rochester Hop Bitters and Washington Senators over the course of his 5 year career.
