Born on March 8, 1968 in Brentwood, New York, Jim Dougherty (James E. Dougherty) played for the Houston Astros, Oakland Athletics and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 4 year career. Dougherty broke into the bigs on April 27, 1995 with the Houston Astros, and put up a 4.92 ERA in 67.2 innings pitched in 1995, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Jim Dougherty's best season was 1995, when he posted a 4.92 ERA.
