Born on April 20, 1938 in Portland, Oregon, Jim Dickson (James Edward Dickson) played for the Houston Colt .45s, Cincinnati Reds and Kansas City Athletics over the course of his 4 year career. Dickson broke into the bigs on July 2, 1963 with the Houston Colt .45s, and put up a 3.47 ERA in 85.2 innings pitched in 1965, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Jim Dickson's best season was 1965, when he posted a 3.47 ERA and struck out 54 batters.
