Jim Connor (James Matthew Connor) was born on May 11, 1863 in Port Jervis, New York. He made his Major League debut on July 11, 1892 for the Chicago Colts. In 1897, his rookie year, he hit .291 with 3 home runs and 38 RBI. Connor played for the Chicago Colts and Chicago Orphans over the course of his 4 year career.

Most people believe that Jim Connor's best season was 1898, when he knocked in 67 runs.
