[edit] Biography

Born on October 24, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jim Brosnan (James Patrick Brosnan) played for the Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 9 year career. Brosnan broke into the bigs on April 15, 1954 with the Chicago Cubs, and put up a 3.79 ERA in 95 innings pitched in 1956, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Jim Brosnan's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1961, when he posted a 3.04 ERA, won 10 games and notched 16 saves. However, others believe that it was 1960, when he posted a 2.36 ERA, notched 12 saves and struck out 62 batters.
