Jim Bertelsen (James Allen Bertelsen) was born on February 26, 1950 in St. Paul, Minnesota. After going to high school at Hudson (WI), Bertelsen attended the University of Texas. Bertelsen made his professional debut in the NFL in 1972 with the Los Angeles Rams. He played for the Los Angeles Rams for his entire 5 year career.

Most people believe that 1973 was Jim Bertelsen's best year, as he ran for 854 yards and ran in 4 TDs.
