Born on February 10, 1948 in Lynwood, California, Jim Barr (James Leland Barr) played for the San Francisco Giants and California Angels over the course of his 12 year career. Barr broke into the bigs on July 31, 1971 with the San Francisco Giants, and put up a 2.87 ERA in 179 innings pitched in 1972, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Jim Barr's best season was 1974, when he posted a 2.74 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 84 batters.
