Jesse Whittenton (Urshell James Whittenton) was born on May 9, 1934 in Big Springs, Texas. After going to high school at Yselta (TX), Whittenton attended the University of Texas-El Paso. Whittenton made his professional debut in the NFL in 1956 with the Los Angeles Rams. He played for the Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Rams over the course of his 9 year career.
Most people believe that 1961 was Jesse Whittenton's best year, as he picked off 5 passes and ran back an interception for a touchdown.
