Jesse Thomas (Jesse L. Thomas) was born on May 23, 1928 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Central (Flint, MI), Thomas attended Michigan State University. Thomas made his professional debut in the NFL in 1955 with the Baltimore Colts. He played in the NFL for 3 years, playing for the Baltimore Colts the entire time. Thomas also played in the AFL for 1 year, playing for the Los Angeles Chargers the entire time.

Most people believe that 1956 was Jesse Thomas's best year, as he ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
