Jess Tatum (Jess Bolt Tatum) was born on October 8, 1914 in McColl, South Carolina. After going to high school at McColl (SC), Tatum attended North Carolina State University. Tatum made his professional debut in the NFL in 1938 with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for his entire 1 year career.
