Jess Atkinson (Jess Gerald Atkinson) was born on December 11, 1961 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After going to high school at Crossland (Camp Springs, MD), Atkinson attended the University of Maryland. Atkinson made his professional debut in the NFL in 1985 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the Washington Redskins, Indianapolis Colts and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 4 year career.

Most people believe that 1987 was Jess Atkinson's best year.
