Jerry Sturm (Jerry Gordon Sturm) was born on December 31, 1936 in English, Indiana. After going to high school at Gerstmeyer (Terre Haute, IN), Sturm attended the University of Illinois. Sturm made his professional debut in the AFL in 1961 with the Denver Broncos. He played in the AFL for 6 years, playing for the Denver Broncos the entire time. Sturm also played in the NFL for 6 years, playing for the New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles and Houston Oilers over the course of his 6 year NFL career.

Most people believe that 1961 was Jerry Sturm's best year.
