Jerry Shay (Jerome Paul Shay) was born on July 10, 1944 in Gary, Indiana. After going to high school at Lew Wallace (Gary, IN), Shay attended Purdue University. Shay made his professional debut in the NFL in 1966 with the Minnesota Vikings. He played for the New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that 1968 was Jerry Shay's best year.
