Jerry Martin (Jerry Lindsey Martin) was born on May 11, 1949 in Columbia, South Carolina. He made his Major League debut on September 7, 1974 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1977, his rookie year, he hit .260 with 6 home runs and 28 RBI. Martin played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, Kansas City Royals and New York Mets over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Jerry Martin's best season was 1979, when he slugged 19 home runs and knocked in 73 runs.
