Jerry Houghton (Gerald Haines Houghton) was born on April 18, 1926 in Yakima, Washington. After going to high school at Zillah (WA), Houghton attended Washington State Universtiy. Houghton made his professional debut in the NFL in 1950 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Chicago Cardinals and Washington Redskins over the course of his 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1950 was Jerry Houghton's best year.
