Born on September 14, 1957 in Brownwood, Texas, Jerry Gleaton (Jerry Don Gleaton) played for the Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners, Chicago White Sox, Kansas City Royals, Detroit Tigers and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 12 year career. Gleaton broke into the bigs on July 11, 1979 with the Texas Rangers, and put up a 4.75 ERA in 85.1 innings pitched in 1981, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Jerry Gleaton's best season was 1990, when he posted a 2.94 ERA, notched 13 saves and struck out 56 batters.
