Jerry Ginney (Jerald Warren Ginney) was born on April 9, 1916 in Dayton, Ohio. After going to high school at Lowell (San Francisco, CA), Ginney attended Santa Clara University. Ginney made his professional debut in the NFL in 1940 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles for his entire 1 year career.
