Jerry Buchek (Gerald Peter Buchek) was born on May 9, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri. He made his Major League debut on June 30, 1961 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1965, his rookie year, he hit .247 with 3 home runs and 21 RBI. Buchek played for the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Mets over the course of his 7 year career.
