Jerry Ball (Jerry Lee Ball) was born on December 15, 1964 in Beaumont, Texas. After going to high school at Westbrook (TX), Ball attended Southern Methodist University. Ball made his professional debut in the NFL in 1987 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, Los Angeles Raiders and Cleveland Browns over the course of his 13 year career.

Most people believe that 1989 was Jerry Ball's best year, as he recorded 9 sacks and recovered 3 opponents fumbles.
