Acquired:
Selected in the second round (ninth overall) by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the 2006 CFL Canadian Draft.
College:
Played four seasons (2003-06) with the University of Akron Zips…started 29 of 42 career games including 25 at defensive end four at defensive tackle…made 130 total tackles (67 solo) including 23.5 for 90 yards in losses and 11.5 quarterback sacks…also forced four fumbles and recovered three.
Personal:
Jermaine Andre Reid was born April 19th, 1983 in Pickering, Ontario...son of Lawrence and Veronica Reid…attended St. Mary's Catholic High School…ranked as the eighth-best prospect in Canada...earned first-team All-Greater Toronto honors...a two-year starter on the defensive line...team was runner-up in the 2001 Metro Bowl, which is the provincial championship game...invited to play on the Canadian national team...played basketball all four years...an all-league selection as a senior...coached by Gordon Judges.
