Born on December 13, 1960 in Santa Ana, California, Jeff Robinson (Jeffrey Daniel Robinson) played for the San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Yankees, California Angels and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 9 year career. Robinson broke into the bigs on April 7, 1984 with the San Francisco Giants, and put up a 4.56 ERA in 171.2 innings pitched in 1984, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Jeff Robinson's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1987, when he posted a 2.85 ERA, notched 14 saves and struck out 101 batters. However, others believe that it was 1988, when he posted a 3.03 ERA, won 11 games and struck out 87 batters.
