Born on July 7, 1966 in Washington Court House, Ohio, Jeff Shaw (Jeffrey Lee Shaw) played for the Cleveland Indians, Montreal Expos, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds and Los Angeles Dodgers over the course of his 12 year career. Shaw broke into the bigs on April 30, 1990 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 3.36 ERA in 72.1 innings pitched in 1991, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Jeff Shaw's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1998, when he posted a 2.12 ERA, notched 48 saves and struck out 55 batters. However, others believe that it was 1997, when he posted a 2.38 ERA, notched 42 saves and struck out 74 batters.
