[edit] Biography

Born on October 1, 1955 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Jeff Reardon (Jeffrey James Reardon) played for the New York Mets, Montreal Expos, Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds and New York Yankees over the course of his 16 year career. Reardon broke into the bigs on August 25, 1979 with the New York Mets, and put up a 2.61 ERA in 110.1 innings pitched in 1980, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Jeff Reardon's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1988, when he posted a 2.47 ERA, notched 42 saves and struck out 56 batters. However, others believe that it was 1982, when he posted a 2.06 ERA, notched 26 saves and struck out 86 batters.
