Why it was just yesterday, in the final moments leading up to the All-Star Game that The Seattle Times reported that Ichiro Suzuki was going to sign a five year, $100 million dollar contract extension. In doing so, that will keep him with the Seattle Mariners through 2012. I’ll be honest, that the only way I’d be living in Seattle with a nice filled briefcase of Ben’s!
Oh wait…Incoming news! Did you know he's going to be a free agent? Or at least Fox’s Jeanie Zelasko certainly seems to think so, or did during Ichiro's post-game interview last night. Apparently the Fox network didn’t send out that memo quick enough or the email went directly into SPAM. There has be conflicting reports that Joe Buck was the mastermind behind this oops, but we’ll have to wait until the full investigation is complete to see how in the hell Jeanie didn’t know this.
The funniest part of the entire eight-second clip below is Ichiro’s expression to Zelasko’s boneheadism. It’s like somehow, someway he can understand bonehead when he has trouble grasping the English language as he laughs after her notion of him become a free agent. And without any hesitation she responses not have a clue what’s going on by…Well, let’s just roll the tape!
