Jay Ritchie

Born on November 20, 1936 in Salisbury, North Carolina, Jay Ritchie (Jay Seay Ritchie) played for the Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 5 year career. Ritchie broke into the bigs on August 4, 1964 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 3.17 ERA in 71 innings pitched in 1965, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Jay Ritchie's best season was 1967, when he posted a 3.17 ERA and struck out 57 batters.
