Jay Carroll (Jay Timothy Carroll) was born on November 8, 1961 in Winona, Minnesota. After going to high school at Cotter (Winona, MN), Carroll attended the University of Minnesota. Carroll made his professional debut in the NFL in 1984 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played for the Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the course of his 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1984 was Jay Carroll's best year.
