Jay Bellamy (John Jay Bellamy) was born on July 8, 1972 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. After going to high school at Matawan (Aberdeen, NJ), Bellamy attended Rutgers State University of New Jersey. Bellamy made his professional debut in the NFL in 1994 with the Seattle Seahawks. He has played for the Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints over the course of his 13 year career.

Most people believe that 2000 was Jay Bellamy's best year, as he picked off 4 passes and ran back an interception for a touchdown.

Bellamy attended Matawan Regional High School and was a letterman in football and track . In football, he was a two-way starter as a quarterback and as a free safety.
