[edit] BiographyAcquired: 2003 CFL Draft (2nd Round, 15th overall) 2006: A break-through season for the fourth-year Lion leading the club in defensive tackles with 82 and adding nine more on special teams over 18 regular season games. Demonstrating a wide ranging skill-set, Glatt also recorded four interceptions (tied 4th), four pass knockdowns, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Glatt’s consistent play earned him Defensive Player of the Week honours after racking up two interceptions, three tackles, a sack and a knockdown versus Toronto (July 29/06). Glatt chipped in two defensive tackles in the West Championship and was all over the field in the Lions’ Grey Cup victory with eight tackles as well as a decisive forced fumble in the game’s final moments. 2005: Came on strong over the course of the season developing into one the Lions' most important defensive reserves. Dressed for all 18 regular season games and was a starter twice. His 55 tackles put him in 6th spot on the team for 2005. Led the Lions defense in tackles in the West Championship game vs Edmonton with 11 including 8 defensive stops. 2004: Played a key backup role and on special teams but missed 6 games plus the entire post-season due to a pectoral muscle tear. 2003: Made a team-leading 22 special teams tackles but missed the post-season due to a knee injury. Notable: Enjoying his first fulltime starting role in 2006 after three seasons as a back-up Glatt proved to be standout at both linebacker and on special teams. Javier’s career season to date included 82 DT which were more than double his best previous mark and ranked him third in the category behind Winnipeg’s Barrin Simpson and Saskatchewan’s Reggie Hunt. Glatt led the club with six tackles for a loss and recorded his first professional sack and interception in 2006. College: As a four-year starter at UBC, Glatt registered 256 tackles, 8 sacks, and 3 interceptions, including one that was returned for a 103-yard touchdown. During his college career, he was named Canada West All-Star and CIS All-Canadian three times, and was the Canada West Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2002. In 2000, he led the nation with 79 solo tackles in eight games. Personal: While attending UBC, Glatt was also a member of the baseball team. He has one older brother who played in the CFL for nine seasons. In his spare time, Glatt enjoys lifting weights, playing basketball and video games, and cooking. His favourite pre-game meal is a Subway turkey and ham sandwich. Glatt is heavily involved in Lions community work, participating in the Read, Write & Roar!, Lions in the House, and Football 101 programs.
