[edit] Biography

Born on January 29, 1973 in Lewiston, Idaho, Jason Schmidt (Jason David Schmidt) played for the Atlanta Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates and San Francisco Giants over the course of his 12 year career. Schmidt broke into the bigs on April 28, 1995 with the Atlanta Braves, and put up a 5.70 ERA in 96.1 innings pitched in 1996, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Jason Schmidt's most productive season. Some believe that it was 2004, when he posted a 3.20 ERA, won 18 games and struck out 251 batters. However, others believe that it was 2003, when he posted a 2.34 ERA, won 17 games and struck out 208 batters.
