Jason Pottinger
[edit] BiographyAcquired: 2006 CFL Draft (1st Round, 2nd overall) 2006: More than living up to the expectations a first-round draft pick carries, Jason was a key performer for the Lions on special teams. Appearing in all 18 regular season games as well as the West Championship and Grey Cup, Pottinger recorded 19 special teams tackles (2nd) as well as six defensive stops. College: Among the leading players in all of CIS football in 2005, he was named the Outstanding Defensive Player in the OUA this past season once again. Recorded 51 tackles and a sack in 8 games for McMaster. In 2004, Jay received his first OUA Top Defensive Player award and has been named to the All-Canadian Team twice in his career. Was a member of the OUA All-Star Team in each of his final three seasons with the Marauders. Personal: Jay enjoys fishing while visiting his cabin, as well as spending time with friends and family. He can be found taking part in numerous community programs in the Hamilton-area most often with a literacy component involving children. Jason is currently finishing his degree in Economics at McMaster and is a big Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Rock (NLL) fan.
