CAREER: One of college football's best freshmen offensive linemen in 2006 and could be a future All-American...Smart and savvy blocker who earned a starting job before his first collegiate game...Started 12 games as a true freshman, playing both right and left tackle...Has not allowed a sack in his collegiate career...High school tight end who quickly made the transition to the offensive line...Athletic player who is often compared to former Hurricane Eric Winston, a Texas tight end who became an All-America tackle at Miami...Has natural instincts, good feet and proved to be a very quick learner...Marketing major.

2006 (FRESHMAN): Started the first 11 games of the season before suffering a dislocated elbow and missing the regular-season finale...Came back to start the bowl game...Did not allow a sack all season...Started eight games at right tackle and four games at left tackle...Named first-team Freshman All-America by CollegeFootballNews.com and second team by The Sporting News and Rivals.com...Selected to The Sporting News ACC All-Freshman team. Graded 83 percent for the season, tied for second highest on the team, and graded the highest for effort...Named the team's Offensive Rookie of the Year...One of eight UM players who were selected to the 2006 ACC Academic Football Team...Played every offensive snap in eight games...Started at right tackle in the first two games, missing just one snap...Moved to left tackle in the Louisville game in only his third collegiate game, because of Reggie Youngblood's injury...Started at left tackle a week later vs. Houston, and switched between left and right tackle throughout the game...Moved back to right tackle Oct. 7 vs. North Carolina, but played some left tackle in the contest...Started at right tackle against FIU, Duke, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech...Moved back to left tackle in place of an injured Youngblood at Maryland...Started at left tackle at Virginia but suffered a dislocated left elbow in the second quarter and left the game...Did not play in the regular-season finale vs. Boston College because of the elbow injury, missing his only game of the season...Returned for the MPC Computers Bowl vs. Nevada and started at right tackle.

HIGH SCHOOL: Athletic high school tight end...Played offensive line and defensive end as a senior in 2005...As a junior in 2004, played tight end, catching seven passes for 95 yards...Rated at the No. 16 offensive tackle by Rivals.com and No. 24 by Scout.com...As a tight end, ranked No. 15 by PrepStar, No. 13 by Collegefootballnews.com and No. 22 by ESPN...Ranked the No. 13 player on the Dallas Morning News Area Top 100 list...Chose Miami over Texas A&M, Arizona and Oklahoma State...Coached by Mike Papas.
