Jason Thompson (Jason Dolph Thompson) was born on July 6, 1954 in Hollywood, California. He made his Major League debut on April 23, 1976 for the Detroit Tigers. In 1976, his rookie year, he hit .218 with 17 home runs and 54 RBI. Thompson played for the Detroit Tigers, California Angels, Pittsburgh Pirates and Montreal Expos over the course of his 11 year career.

Most people believe that Jason Thompson's best season was 1982, when he slugged 31 home runs, hit for a .284 average and knocked in 101 runs.
