Played for 4 years at LSU, and is currently 4th on LSU's all-time sack list with 20. He was a construction engineering major at LSU, and also played football with his brother Jason and cousin Howard.

Jarvis was drafted in the 4th round of the 2002 draft by then Super Bowl Champions New England. Since then, he has performed admirably as a backup and substitute on the Pats' defensive line, most notably replacing Richard Seymour when the Pro Bowler is injured.

Jarvis has played in 81 NFL games, 24 times as a starter. He has also played in 11 post-season games, starting 3 times. He has 21.0 career sacks. He was tied for 2nd on the team in 2006 with 7.5 sacks. He also led the team with 3 forced fumbles.

In the 2003 AFC Championship game, Jarvis recorded 5 solo tackles, and 2.5 sacks, helping the Patriots to a 24-14 win over Indianapolis.

In the 2004 playoffs, Jarvis started all three of New England's games. He had 7 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble.

Jarvis, born in Louisiana, has been part of the tremendous effort to raise money for victims of Hurricane Katrina. In 2007, he organized a Gala Wine Tasting event to raise funds for victims of Katrina. On his personal web-site, Green stated that the cause of helping Katrina's victims "...will be part of my life forever."
