Born on April 28, 1966 in Rochester, New York, Jim Poole (James Richard Poole) played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, Cleveland Indians, San Francisco Giants, Philadelphia Phillies, Montreal Expos and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 11 year career. Poole broke into the bigs on June 15, 1990 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and put up a 2.15 ERA in 50.1 innings pitched in 1993, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Jim Poole's best season was 1996, when he posted a 2.86 ERA.
