Born on December 14, 1894 in Banner, Mississippi, James Edwards (James Corbette Edwards) played for the Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 6 year career. Edwards broke into the bigs on May 14, 1922 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 4.47 ERA in 92.2 innings pitched in 1922, his rookie year.

Most people believe that James Edwards's best season was 1923, when he posted a 3.71 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 68 batters.
