Born on November 29, 1873 in Ottumwa, Iowa, Jake Weimer (Jacob Weimer) played for the Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds and New York Giants over the course of his 7 year career. Weimer broke into the bigs on April 17, 1903 with the Chicago Cubs, and put up a 2.30 ERA in 282 innings pitched in 1903, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Jake Weimer's best season was 1904, when he posted a 1.91 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 177 batters.
