Born on April 4, 1878 in San Antonio, Texas, Jake Volz (Jacob Phillip Volz) played for the Boston Americans, Boston Beaneaters and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 3 year career. Volz broke into the bigs on September 28, 1901 with the Boston Americans.
