Jake Knowdell (Jacob Augustus Knowdell) was born on July 27, 1840 in Brooklyn, New York. He made his Major League debut on June 20, 1874 for the Brooklyn Atlantics. In 1875, his rookie year, he hit .196 with 0 home runs and 9 RBI. Knowdell played for the Brooklyn Atlantics and Milwaukee Cream Citys over the course of his 3 year career.
