Jake Flowers (D'Arcy Raymond Flowers) was born on March 16, 1902 in Cambridge, Maryland. He made his Major League debut on September 7, 1923 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1927, his rookie year, he hit .234 with 2 home runs and 20 RBI. Flowers played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Brooklyn Robins and Brooklyn Dodgers over the course of his 9 year career.
