In a surprising about-face by the Jacksonville Jaguars' front office on Friday, ESPN reports that the team will name David Garrard their starting QB for the 2007 season, and will either trade or release erstwhile signal-caller Byron Leftwich. Leftwich had previously been named the team's starter this offseason after an injury-marred 2006 campaign, but Jags coach Jack Del Rio was apparently impressed with Garrard's development in camp and the preseason. It will be interesting to see where Leftwich lands; don't be surprised if he is snatched up by either Minnesota, Oakland, Kansas City, or Atlanta before the regular season.
