Jackson: I'm Sorry Mr. Ed

After the flak he received from his comments yesterday, you would think Phil Jackson would issue a sincere, heartfelt apology.

Well, it started out that way . . .

This is what I saw and heard him say, as broadcasted last night after ESPN's Lakers/Rockets game:

"What I said was not funny, it was a poor joke that wasn't funny when taken out of context . . . If I've offended any horses, texans, cowboys, or gays, I apologize."

Where does that rank in the All-Time Best Apologies? Has to be pretty high.

Hey, at least he's consistent - with his words, if not with his fashion. Where is he hiding that bow tie?

You needn't look any further than his Pee Wee Herman outfit in that picture to realize Phil Jackson might be losing his marbles.

Perhaps one of the top 5 best apologies ever...if you've ever seen someone apologize and not even come close to meaning it... I thought it was great...a subtle way of fighting the PC world...

Phil's a pretty funny guy. And you're right, this is one of the best "non-apologies' I've heard. I was particularly pleased with the apologies to any horses he may have offended. I actually thought the original "Brokeback" joke he made on Tuesday night was pretty funny- and NOT intended to demean or offend the homosexual community in any way.

Like he said, it was illteration, anyone who doesn't get that and thinks it was a slur is just plain stupid.

I just don't think he gives a . . . hoot about what anybody thinks. He has always been pretty outspoken.

Since when did Bob Knight moonlight as Phil Jackson's media consultant?

This whole thing is hilarious. I think I'm getting some "Brokeback" feelings for Phil Jackson with every word out of his mouth (in a totally non-gay way(not that there's anything wrong with that)).
