Born on June 21, 1927 in Victor, Iowa, Jackie Collum (Jack Dean Collum) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Cubs, Brooklyn Dodgers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 9 year career. Collum broke into the bigs on September 21, 1951 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.97 ERA in 136 innings pitched in 1953, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Jackie Collum's best season was 1955, when he posted a 3.63 ERA.
