Jack Tobin (John Thomas Tobin) was born on May 4, 1892 in St. Louis, Missouri. He made his Major League debut on April 16, 1914 for the St. Louis Terriers. In 1914, his rookie year, he hit .270 with 7 home runs and 35 RBI. Tobin played for the St. Louis Terriers, St. Louis Browns, Washington Senators and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 13 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Jack Tobin's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1921, when he hit for a .352 average and knocked in 59 runs. However, others believe that it was 1915, when he stole 31 bases, hit for a .294 average and knocked in 51 runs.
