Jack Thornton (Lawrence Jackson Thornton) was born on April 23, 1944 in Washington, Georgia. After going to high school at Washington (GA), Thornton attended Auburn University. Thornton made his professional debut in the AFL in 1966 with the Miami Dolphins. He played for the Miami Dolphins for his entire 1 year career.
