Born on March 11, 1933 in Spokane, Washington, Jack Spring (Jack Russell Spring) played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Boston Red Sox, Washington Senators, Los Angeles Angels, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 8 year career. Spring broke into the bigs on April 16, 1955 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 4.02 ERA in 65 innings pitched in 1962, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Jack Spring's best season was 1962, when he posted a 4.02 ERA.
