Jack Slattery (John Thomas Slattery) was born on January 6, 1878 in South Boston, Massachusetts. He made his Major League debut on September 28, 1901 for the Boston Americans. In 1903, his rookie year, he hit .207 with 0 home runs and 20 RBI. Slattery played for the Boston Americans, Cleveland Naps, Chicago White Sox, St. Louis Cardinals and Washington Senators over the course of his 4 year career.
