Jack Simmons (John Charles Simmons) was born on October 8, 1924 in Grosse Point, Michigan. After going to high school at St. Ambrose (Detroit, MI), Simmons attended the University of Detroit Mercy. Simmons made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1948 with the Baltimore Colts. He played in the AAFC for 1 year, playing for the Baltimore Colts the entire time. Simmons also played in the NFL for 8 years, playing for the Chicago Cardinals and Detroit Lions over the course of his 8 year NFL career.
Most people believe that 1953 was Jack Simmons's best year.
