[edit] Biography

Born on April 18, 1892 in Ridgeway, North Carolina, Jack Scott (John William Scott) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Boston Braves, New York Giants, Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 12 year career. Scott broke into the bigs on September 6, 1916 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 3.13 ERA in 103.2 innings pitched in 1919, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Jack Scott's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1921, when he posted a 3.70 ERA, won 15 games and struck out 83 batters. However, others believe that it was 1925, when he posted a 3.15 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 87 batters.
